Riley Love – a retired physician-turned-author – is a passionate fisherman, and a seasoned traveler, finding inspiration in sharing his experiences with the world…whether blogging about his excursions through the nightlife of Cuba, or reporting about his Canadian fishing trips in a world-renowned publication. His persona is built upon marrying his love of adventure with his intellectual pursuit of the kind of writing he grew up with…the genius of Fitzgerald or Hemingway.

Every element of Riley’s personal brand is built around this duality. Fusing “the Inner Poetry” and “the Outer Wilds” in a visual language that does not oversimplify his persona. The logo takes the kind of ornate, beautiful signature you might find in a love letter, and marries it with a gritty, stamped letterform you might find on a box of Cuban cigars being smuggled out of Havana. The cherry on top is the “passport stamp” that includes the tagline.

Photography and video was a challenge. The budget was too sparse for a sprawling, globe-trotting narrative. Instead, we built it once more around the duality…fusing beautiful stock footage of Riley’s favorite locales with simple, easily-produced shots of Riley’s own personal lifestyle…pensive writing, splendid clothes, and vibrant nightlife. Riley’s brand video serves as the “title sequence” to his life. It is the perfect introduction to a persona that can promise you a lively conversation.
